The '99 vintage for this wine was awarded 94 points by James Halliday and 91 points by Jeremy Oliver.

James Halliday wrote "Aromas and flavours typify both region and grape variety: cassis, mulberry, leather and subtle spice notes. A satisfying whole with earthy tannins and refreshing natural acidity. An excellent wine from former Wynns Coonawarra Estate Chief Winemaker Peter Douglas."

We reckon the 2000 vintage is better than the '99, and represents great value for money at this price.

Its secret lies in a magical marriage of rich red terra rossa soil, limestone, pure underground water and a long cool ripening season for the grapes.
