The inaugural vintage of this wine in the UK, sees Eight (proud) Uncles parading this stunning offspring - pinpoint accurate Barossa Shiraz

★★★★★ Stars

FIVE STARS - Made by Natasha Mooney, the extraordinarily talented winemaker who made my favourite vintages of E&E Black Pepper Shiraz, this is a textured, triumphant, benchmark (but modern) Barossa Shiraz. 2005 - 2010.

Spitton.biz, December 2004.

Deep black cheery in colour. After a couple of hours breathing and a decant, revealed an intense blackberry aroma; powerful but refined with a layer of vanilla complexity. The palate is very rich and full - a stunningly gorgeous, typical Shiraz offering with lashings of strawberry, black cherry and blueberry fruit.

There is a lot of ripeness here; certainly characterful and certainly worth throwing a few in the cellar for a few (8?) years. Scribblings rating - 94/100

About the Vineyard:

Fox Gordon has been awarded a ★★★★★ rating by James Halliday.

"This is the venture of three very well known figures in the wine industry: Jane Gordon, Rachel Atkins (née Fox) and Natasha Mooney. Natasha (Tash) has had first-class experience in the Barossa Valley, particularly during her time as chief winemaker at Barossa Valley Estate. The partners wanted to produce high-quality wine, but only small quantities, which would allow them time to look after their children; the venture was planned in the shade of the wisteria tree in Tash’s back garden. The grapes come from dry-grown vineyards farmed under biodiversity principles, which, says Tash, makes the winemaker’s job easy. Classy packaging adds the final touch. Exports to the UK, the US, Canada, Germany, India and China."
