This wine has been made by two leading South Australian winemakers, both of whom lead James Halliday five star rated vineyards.  The spicy finish that existed when the wine was young has balanced nicely out, this wine is drinking very well now, don't put it in the cellar it is at its peak right now, make this your new house red.

Critics Comment:

Robert Parker Rating 88 points.  "Binder Mitchell is an exciting collaboration between Rolf Binder of Veritas and Kevin Mitchell of Kilikanoon. The pair were attracted to the potential of the new wine region of the Southern Flingers Ranges, north of the Clare Valley. Here the climate is warm and dry, yet moderated by evening breezes to produce the ripe fruit that Binder and Mitchell like for their sleek, powerful reds with a strong underlying structure supported (but not dominated) by oak.

"The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Dove Tail offers loads of creme de cassis characteristics intermixed with hints of toasty oak (it was matured in French wood for 20 months), cedar, and cassis. Medium to full-bodied with a spicy finish, it should be consumed over the next 5-8 years."
