Every time I visit my local bottle shop I am reminded of the value in this case. 2 wines that are rated 91 and 89 points by one of the world's most respected wine critics plus a wine that rocks my business partner's wife's world, for just $11.25 per bottle delivered! Why would you drink anything less?  Seriously I promise you will not be disappointed with this stunner, stock up for as always with these stunning vintage wines stocks are strictly limited.

Binder Mitchell is an exciting collaboration between Rolf Binder of Veritas and Kevin Mitchell of Kilikanoon. The pair were attracted to the potential of the new wine region of the Southern Flingers Ranges, north of the Clare Valley. Here the climate is warm and dry, yet moderated by evening breezes to produce the ripe fruit that Binder and Mitchell like for their sleek, powerful reds with a strong underlying structure supported (but not dominated) by oak. Robert Parker in  Wine Advocate # 155 October 2004 rated the three wines 91 and 89 respectively, making this an extremely well rated case and rare value indeed.  Sadly he never rated the SGM which is my pick of the bunch, and as I said rocks worlds, trust me please, this is a wine of beauty.

Both Kevin Mitchell and Rolf Binder have run very successful vineyards, Kilikanoon and Veritas.  Kilikanoon make some of my all time favorite wines.  These really are up there and superb value.  Both make stunning wines and their vineyards are given coveted 5 star ratings by James Halliday.  Having extensively tasted these wines we rate the 3 of them very highly, this case is exceptional value.

This selection is 4 each of the following 3 wines:

2003 Binder Mitchell Dovetail SGM (Shiraz Grenache Mourvedre)

Robert Parker didnt get to taste this - but I did and it is gold.  Beautiful SGM, smooth, balanced, tasting mighty fine now.  Drink up.  This wine is my business partner's wife's favourite wine, it truly rocks her world.

2002 Binder Mitchell Dovetail Baroota Shiraz
Robert Parker Rating 91 - The Dovetail Baroota Shiraz is the flagship Binder Mitchell wine.   Baroota is part of the new wine region of the Southern Flingers Ranges, north of the Clare Valley. The climate is warm and dry, yet moderated by evening breezes to produce the ripe fruit that Binder and Mitchell like for their sleek, powerful reds with a strong underlying structure supported (but not dominated) by oak.

"Aged in 70% American and 30% French oak hogsheads, the inky ruby/purple-hued 2002 Shiraz Dove Tail (from a 20-year-old vineyard) offers up aromas of smoke, graphite, vanilla, blackberries, and cassis. A notion of licorice also makes an appearance in the flavors. Full-bodied, with great fruit, a beautiful texture, and a long, heady finish, it should drink well for 7-8 years."

2002 Binder Mitchell Dovetail Shiraz Cabernet
Robert Parker Rating 89 -  "The 2002 Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon Dove Tail was aged in equal parts American and French oak. Its dark ruby/purple color is followed by a rich bouquet of chocolate, coffee, blackberries, and currants, a layered mouthfeel, a corpulent, chunky texture, and loads of fruit and glycerin. Consume this hedonistic 2002 over the next 4-5 years."
