2009 Paringa `Vineyard Select` Sparkling Chardonnay-Pinot Noir

A brand new release from the Paringa stable, this delicious Sparkling Brut style wine is made from a hand selected blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. The 2009 Paringa `Vineyard Select` Sparkling Chardonnay-Pinot Noir has a stunning faint salmon pink appearance through a golden yellow core. The nose screams complexity with white peach, apricot and a hint of strawberry drawn together by a honey like sweetness and further enhanced by a subtle buttery, slightly toasty aroma consistent with malolactic fermentation. The palate is full bodied and has a creamy richness induced by regular sur lie or lees stirring. Flavours of sweet stone fruit, cream and a slight nuttiness round out the front and mid palate while a crisp, clean acid thread balances the mouthfeel and completes the structure. The mousse is fine and soft lifting the aromatics and has an attractive lingering finish. Get in early and savour this new release wine, for your enjoyment now or will only gain in complexity if left to cellar for 6 months to 2 years.
